Hey guys…

10/05/22 — Continuing work from the day before on understanding the Rect transform in the UI canvas. Not much work was done on this day unfortunately.

11/05/22 — Started the day of learning about the canvas scaler, adding an image to the UI, editing the UI in the editor & resizing the image to fit in the game view and UI… more on patreon.com/SKULLpturedGaming

12/05/22 — Started another day of with more UI elements. How to create the health bar by using the masking. Learning to script the health bar onto the main character… more on patreon.com/SKULLpturedGaming

I had taken down notes worth of about 1 1/2 pages on that day.

I had watched one hour tutorials on unity learn, once again. This one was session 2 — Platformer microgame

In this tutorial I have learnt how unity renders a UI and how to use the Rect tool in the editor to place and size an element to make it work well with multiple scales.

I have also learned how to use static members in script and singletons, to make my health bar script accessible from anywhere within the Unity editor.

With all the learning I’m not a pro at any of it yet as there is a lot to learn and lot more experience needed to become better at this workflow.

13/05/22 — (Today) — Started with the upload of the anniversary video will be available tomorrow (14th MAY).

World interaction — Dialogue Raycast.

Got stuck with animating the NPC and took about 30 minutes to fix that. Learning how to raycast on the onto NPC to create an interaction. Adding an UI canvas to the NPC to make a dialogue scene between the main character and NPC…more on patreon.com/SKULLpturedGaming

I have taken down about one page worth of notes today.

In this tutorial I have learnt how Raycasting is useful in interactive application because it allows me to detect things like colliders in a given direction as well as checking what is in front of a character.
